When I make: ifport eth0, I have the following result:
eth01 (10baseT)
The card is well configured in 10BaseT mode.
I think there is a problem with the driver but I'm no
Hi,
I have a problem to configure my PCMCIA network card.
I have a Xircom CE3B-100 on a Compaq presario 1200 and I run Debian
GNU/Linux 2.2r5 with a 2.2.20 kernel.
The network card seems to be perfectly configured. It possesses an IP
address and routes are configured correctly. Modules are corre

Hi,
I'm afraid I made a very big fault.
I have a potato 2.2r4.
I wanted to upgrade the libc6 package from woody and other packages
without passing by a 'dist-upgrade' via apt-get, just using dpkg. The
upgrade was ok. Then (I don't know why I made that! ), I wanted to
downgrade the same package a

It exists a FrameBuffer-HOWTO ( in the /usr/doc/HOWTO/en-txt/ in
the Debian GNU/Linux system)
To use framebuffer on console, you have to recompile your kernel with
experimental stuffs (activate-> Code maturity level options -> Prompt
for experimental stuffs).

Hi!
I don't know if it is a bug but I don't manage to use options with the
command 'time'.
For example, -v option which is verbose option gives
$ time -v ./myprog
bash: -v: command not found
real0m0.072s
user0m0.000s
sys 0m0.000s
Another one is the wellknown --version option it give

Hi,
I have installed the Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 r1 on my machine. A few days
after the installation I noticed some strange messages from the kernel
(samples below) concerning the virtual memory (do_try_to_free_pages failed
for...).
I have a second distribution on my machine (a RedHat GNU/Linux),
