There is a gtop package in stable, but no package in testing or
unstable. Is there a reason why? Is it in another package?

As bonkers as this might seem, does any one know if there is any way of
setting up a file (like a motd file) so that it uses the output of a
program like fortune?

Hrm... what kind of motherboard/ide chipset do you have? Also, what
process/es seem to consume all your CPU power (you can find out by
running top). Knowing this would be helpful :)

Sorry, there's no 4.2 right now. Branden hasn't even put it into
unstable yet cuz it would mess up woody's stabilization process. If I
were you I'd wait for woody to official come out (hopefully soon) and
then see if XFree 4.1 works.

By the way, when I first installed it I didn't care too much about my
partition table setup I just wanted it to work. So the partition that's
messed up is my root partition which contains everything. If I can fix
this well, I can guaranttee that that won
7;t even be on your machine (unless
you can define all the time which GL driver to use.)
If the above fails, check out my giant list of install/debug
instructions to a guy with the alias of "dude." It should be in the news
letter archive (its pretty recent so you shouldn't have t
to some 50pin external device, but I'm not sure wether the card with the
50pin would work under linux? Could I just use a 68pin to 50pin adapter for
the external devices?

ame time, I want people to be uploading to me without any bog down and
me being able to Quake 3 on my NVidia card all at the same time. (Yeah for
linux's multitasking (And lots of CPU power and RAM.)) I want to make
sure to impress them with my OS (and my box of course.)

Sorry everyone about my system clock being messed up in some of my messages.
My mobo battery's kind of loose so it occassionaly resets. Thanks for all
your messages tho.

ollowing commands :
rm /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libGLcore.a
rm /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.a
rm /usr/lib/libGL.so
rm /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so*
rm /usr/X11R6/lib/libGLcore.so*
Then, go back into /usr/src/NV(GLX) and type make. Reset X and it
should work fine.

Also, I'm planning on getting a Plextor
12x4x32. Good choice right? Hey, I figure why not. It's the
same price as buying an IDE (around where I live) and it's cheaper than an 18.2
IBM hard drive.
