I attempted a install from the Hamm branch and after the package selection
got the following
from the install command:

I can't find any mention of this anywhere. What does this dire sounding
line mean?

I have some strange IRQ settings for my serial ports. Linux doesn't
autoprobe properly. I've read in the manual that this can be
corrected by via setserial. This seems a rather inelegant solution.
Is there a way similar to the "pas16=0x388,20" I use for my CD-ROM

Pentium II with the new 440LX chipset. My concern is over the AGP
graphics. Would I be able to use debian with AGP? Are there any

Every time I try to access my cdrom under any distribution of Linux,
the entire system goes into limbo. My drive is connected to a PAS 16
and it appears that autoprobe is finding it since the light on the
drive flashes. The drive is a Toshiba 2x. Has anyone heard of this
problem before? Do I ne
I finally got all my tcp/ip software up and running but can't figure
out what to do with mail. What software do I need for mail over POP3
and a normal e-mail account from an ISP? Is there any kind of
documentation for this?

When I did my initial debian installation, I chose to install emacs
ratger that Xemacs because I wasn't sure if I would be running
Xwindows. Now that I am using Xwindows, I attempted to install the
xemacs* packages. dpkg complained that Xemacs conflicts with emacs.
When I tried to remove emacs,
I am attempting to comile Lynx 2.7.1. When it attempts to link in the
termcap library with '-ltermcap', The compile dies and says that
termcap isn't there. I looked in /lib and saw that a file beginning
with libtermcap is there. Why can't the compiler find the file, or is
it the wrong file?
