I tried to change boot=hda3 to hda4 Did you move the 'bootable' flag from hda3 to 4, too? Otherwise, the MBR tries to start your old LILO on hda3. You can also install LILO in the MBR using boot=hda that makes the 'bootable' flag obsolete. Dietrich -- Dietrich Clauß [EMAIL PROTECTED]

finger userlist-only doesn't work

1999-11-07 Thread Dietrich Clauss
hi, Since I upgraded to slink, the command 'finger [EMAIL PROTECTED]' doesn't work any longer, it simply says [localhost] and then returns without error messages. I use cfingerd v1.3.2-18 and I didn't make any changes to /etc/cfingerd/cfingerd.conf, the line +ALLOW_USERLIST_ONLY is present.

nfs + setgid problem

1999-10-17 Thread Dietrich Clauss
Hello. I have a workstation pool with the home dirs shared over NFS. The home dirs are sgid by default in debian, so if a user creates a directory readable by himself only, it becomes sgid too. (KDE's Desktop directory is an example for that, it gets mode rwx--S---.) The nfs server (I user knfs)
