About 90% of my /var/log/smb* log files are the line:
Added interface ip=192.168.1.1 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
It seems that smbd prints this as it starts up. I just don't
Possible temporary workaround: run smbd/nmbd as daemons, not from inetd.
This means it'll only start up

Similar problem (I think) with GNAT Ada. GNAT 3.04 (and hence the

be based on gcc 2.7.2.1 and then a pkg of the same released,
you have to stick with gcc 2.7.2

frames have not. As such, it's not likely that Mosaic or Lynx will

I don't know the status of tables in Lynx).
Lynx 2.5 [claims it] has tables,
Watch out so you don't run into an infinite loop:
Suppose that you mount the target disk on /mnt, then
cd /
tar cf - . | (cd /mnt; tar xvlpf -)
would copy some things to /mnt then copy /mnt/* to /mnt/mnt/ and so on.
It doesn't. I've been using this a lot lately while reorganising file
Where can I download dpkg 1.3.10, or more specifically the new
documentation (on package creation etc) in postscript form?
I've only found the HTML ones so far. No sign of anything later
than 1.3.6 on ftp.debian.org as yet.

When I try to view a manual page that's located in /usr/local/man,
man says it's updating a local index, then gives a segmentation fault.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

I like your suggestion of configuring packages as a separate step. The
option in dselect to 'configure remaining unconfigured packages' could
handle this, instead of the 'install selected packages' option. In this
scenario, the 'install' option would became 'load packages' and all
I compiled a custom kernel last night, and made fat, msdos and vfat all
modules. msdos and vfat depend on fat to operate, and it seems that
/etc/modules gets processed later than mounting all file systems;
vfat gets inserted before fat, and hence doesn't work. I notice that

Has anyone done a package of the bsd games collection?

Are there any other mirrors of ftp.debian.org in Australia besides
sunsite.anu.edu.au and ftp.debian.org.au? Both of these two seem to
be a bit behind with their mirroring, but the link to the US
is very very slow lately; looks like it's going to take hours
to get the updated manual pages .. :-(
