I have a new machine on order. The more interesting items are:
Mobo: Gigabyte 7VA KT400 + Sound/AGP8X/DDR400
AMD Athlon XP 2000Mhz
ATI Radeon 7500 64B/Dual Head
UDMA 40Gig 7200RPM
My first question is will I have any difficulty with these
hardware pieces?
You will probably have
if it was my machine ...
10GB/windows/dev/hda1 - find out how
much space you're
using now and double it??
..leave it alone, he's gonna _want_ 30GB for linux. _Eventually_.
He just needs to experience the why's for himself, as
me offline in the event that the subject matter may not be of interest to
the list.
Thank you,

I am about to purchase a new machine on which I hope to install Debian. I
was told by someone that I should insure that the new hardware will be Linux
compatible. I thought that one of Debian's claims to fame is that it runs on
so many different platforms. Perhaps, however, there are still
some security issues may not be of
tremendous concern to me.
I am a complete Linux newbie and I am hoping to install Debian on a second
machine, just as soon as I can purchase said machine. :)
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you,
