I think it must be called as user "mmdf". I don't know how your filewall setup works, but we use uucp on dial-up machines to handle incomming mail. For outgoing mail they send it directly via smtp. If you cant make speedy get mail out to scorch via uucp, you may consider forwarding it to scorch via smtp. (Setup scourch to allow relaying from speedy. It will not affect your incomming mail or MX's etc).
