borken laptop-net

I've had trouble to install the new laptop-net package from unstable (2.7.1). I've had to purge the former install, touch a file (/etc/default/laptop-net), and select non-debconf maintained handling of schemes and other configuration files in order to be able to install it. I couldn't get an out
