n't think it is shell dependent, so I don't think it's a bash
option but I could very well be wrong.
(Tried the dotfile generator, but don't see anything there)

ts to use cdrom1(hdc) for the next steps, so I received a
similar error. CDRW's (rewritable cd's) can sometimes raise issues too.

You could try using console-apt ( my favorite ) to try figuring out
what's going on.

OK so the darn thing is called grub, fine.
hda1 = hd(0,0)
fine to, if it has to be.
But why the darn is there not a /etc/grub.conf file (or link) instead of
the darn /boot/grub/file???
And why the %*&^ does the dos example not work?
( which I had to dig out of PAGE_5 of the html docs!!! )
