I have noticed that whenever I do something with a flash animation and
try to browse to another page, it freezes Firefox and the only thing I

I think I can just copy the symlinks from my
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins to /usr/lib/firefox/plugins and it
should work fine. But the upgrade should have been smart enough to copy
the symlinks automatically. Or atleast there should be a warning before
the upgrade starts.

browser and no links were clicked on the pages visited. Both browsers

If you compare firefox 1.0.7 with firefox 1.0.7 provided by google
(toolbar included), the sizes are 4.7MB and 5.1MB.
That is 300KB just for the toolbar(in the compressed installer). No
wonder that firefox becomes a bloat again by adding extensions like these.

No. Don't import anything when you start mozilla with the new profile.
Copy files that you need from old profile manually.

exactly what you are looking for. You can install the extension from
