Hi Jeff,
You are correct. Our state has implemented GNU/Linux in schools and they use
a customized Debian GNU/Linux for that. There must be some method/way which
actually shows them the power of CLI and BASH, and interesting for them.

Its always difficult to think simple and easy. :-) So I've quite confused
here on how and what to present. Any help?

Hi,
Thats a pretty good idea. But I was thinking of an option like the one in
Fcron. Fcron doesn't allow to start the process if it's already running
(started by fcron). So I guess there should be a similar option in crontab
too.

will malfunction the setup.
Is there an option in CRON, which always check if CRON has started the
process and is already running? Cron should execute the script only if the
the process isn't running already. Any hints on this?

But, when this server has a firewall block, then,
kuria...@debian:~$ telnet 192.168.0.20 25
Trying 192.168.0.20...
So, it didn't bring us to the telnet prompt and I think, it works only
when telnet is successful and gives a prompt. Do advice.

Hi All,
I need to write a BASH script which does a set of operations. But this
set of operations must be done only after checking if I am able to use a
relay server for sending mails. So, consider my client server where bash
script would be run as 192.168.0.10. Now, I need to execute a script

Hi,
You can get the mysqldump from the Machine A and then restore this
dump in new MySQL installation @ Machine B.
Machine A:
mysqldump -u root --all-databases>all-database_1.sql
port this mysqldump (all-database_1.sql) to Machine B and run the
command from dump's saved location.
Machine B:

Hi,
Eclipse plugins could be downloaded from the eclipse toolbar "Install"
option. Using this option will ask you for a URL which should be
provided. Hope this helps.

Kurian.

Hi,
If I can remember correctly. Include the option no_root_squash in
/etc/exports of B. It will be like,
/home/storage/video A(rw,sync,subtree_check,no_root_squash)
You will be able to read-write as root if you include this option.
