I copied firmware from Deb8 to Deb9; however, the file name needed to
change from BCM20702A1-0b05-17cf.hcd to BCM20702A0-0b05-17cf.hcd, so
when I copied the file, it still didn't work. It took a while to see
that the file mentioned in dmesg >>really<< wasn't present.

I'm running jessie on an ASUS z97-pro wifi ac motherboard and can't get

I've just got a lenovo t430s and can't get the wifi working. I installed
firmware-iwlwifi_0.28+squeeze1_all.deb
firmware-linux-free_2.6.32-45_all.deb
firmware-linux-nonfree_0.28+squeeze1_all.deb
but still no luck.
Has anyone got one of these working?

I have a dual boot box. etch & WinXP. The MB is a
Soyo KT333 Dragon Lite. I am having trouble recording
sound (in particular using Skype). I disabled the
onboard sound since I couldn't get that to work with
either XP or etch.
I bought and installed a Creative Audigy SE. This
works fine in XP;
I just installed sarge on a new machine and NO packages in status are
listed as not-installed. I'm using synaptic and it knows that there are
packages which are not installed. (I discovered this using and old
script I had written which used dpkg-awk to find documentation packages

I have one system on which if I have a .procmailrc, and I open mail, and
then quit out, the subject line
of my mail is lost. I've attached a session which illustrates the
difference.
I've noticed that the size of the mail changes by 2/11 when procmail
runs and the subject vanishes,
