I also am having problems...heck..i can't even get debian installed cause I
wantr to do a ftp install.
I get teh same message about the asyncmap butm ine goes an extra step
further and reports something about link not 8 bit clean or 7 bit set 0 or
something like that. I saw someone had the same problem on the mailing list
archive but didnt not see a response.

Anyone know how to fix this?...My ISP uses PAP if that helps any. And I used
pppconfig to generate all the scripts.
