I cannot use dpkg, wajig, apt-get--I always get a message: "/usr/bin/perl: relocation error: /lib/libpthread.so.0: symbol__libc_stack_end, version GLIB_2.1 not defined in file ld-linux.so2 with link time reference". I run "Linux version 2.4.27-2-586tsc" (Debian testing). What is a newbie to do? T

I was "dist-upgrade"-ing and during the process I was adviced that I was re-installing the existing kermel-image-2.6.8-1-386, and that I was to reboot as soon as possible, which I did as soon as the next item (Lilo) started being upgraded. To no avail! During the start up I get message "Error -

Happens now and then - cannot write to floppy. Then I try linuxconf (both - in X, in console mode), toggle the "read only" (in "File Systems") - nothing happens. Then I go: "chmod 777 /dev/fd0 - nothing happens. All the above as "root". This happens ever so often, sometimes I just try to fix it
