I'm having some minor problems with collisions on my 2-node network. Or maybe it's major, depends on wether you think 482,653 collisions is a lot for a 5 day period :/ My configuration - (server) Debian Linux 2.1 Linux 2.2.6 Realtek 8129 100B-TX 32MB ram 4GB 7200RPM UW Scsi HD Hub Netgear

identd -- doesn't work in slink.

I have this really strange problem. I had 1 main server running debian 2.0, and identd was fine. I upgraded it to debian 2.1 ..and it no longer works. I removed it from inetd.conf and tried to run it at the command line and i got something along the lines of in.identd: getpeername(): Socket

You *must* do this. For full duplex you need a switch, a hub won't be sufficient. ahh ok..didn't know that . What performance (in MB/s) are you getting? If that appears to be ok, don't worry about the collisions. performance is suffering pretty bad..I don't know what the potential

if you haven't already..try to find a flash update for your bios. or you could use one of those disk utils that allow windows to access more then 8GB. however you would have(i believe?) to boot linux via loadlin for that to work with linux. maybe not. i'm not sure. i hate those disk utils for
