PHP-gd packages without jpg/gif support

I am currently using the php-gd package as a supplement to PHP4. It doesn't have gif/jpg support; only png support. I was wondering if there were unofficial packages with the gif/jpg support, or perhaps another solution besides recompiling php from scratch. Thanks. --Paul Paul B

Apache slowdowns

When I point my browser to http://localhost/~moonkhan I just time out. There is a public_html directory there and the site loads up fine if I append a / to the end of the URL like so: http://localhost/~moonkhan/ Is there an Apache setting that allows this that Debian turns off? --Paul Paul
