is that one line, from nvidia to nv, after a kernel update, until I can go
back in and redo the driver.

to reboot, I thought I had a mail issue. When I
rebooted, all I got was the console login, no X..
changed xorg.conf to nv from nvidia, and at least I am back in X..

since this issue with the nvidia card happened, I also can't switch between
users by doing the CTRL-ALT-F8/F7 or go to the text login by doing the
CTRL-ALT-F1. when I am in a konsole window and I do the CTRL-ALT-F7, here is
what it shows:

to install the nvidia-glx package from unstable.

I was also able to get the NVIDIA driver working, using the beta driver,
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-169.04-pkg1.run
