Hi,
I have two questions concerning keyboards:
(1) I do like the CAPS LOCK key, but unfortunately it works only on
alphabetic keys. How can I force my keyboard under X
and on the console to make caps lock work on other keys as
well?
(2) Often I copy some text by marking it with the mouse.
Here's a problem with sound in Woody: Although I get sound when KDE starts
and although /usr/bin/play works right I can't use kscd, no matter whether I
use ide-cd or the scsi emulation ide-scsi:
steve:/var/lib$ kscd
initCDROM
~initCDROM1
~initCDROM2
~initCDROM4
~initCDROM
Then kscd pops up fo
The only way to run mozilla and artsd or esd seems to be to kill the flash
plugin. I did not succeed by calling mozilla by 'artsdsp mozilla'.
Well, we still have hope --- and netscape!

Hi,
I took first mozilla 0.9.1 and later mozilla-0.9.3 from unstable, compiled
and installed it in woody. First everything worked all right, except that
home banking with the downloaded JRE was everything else but performant.
However, after upgrading in memory from 128 MB to 512 MB and installin
ation the sound
gets extremely ugly. One time it even froze my
X session so that I had to restart X.
Need help to remedy this!

call alsaplayer from within Gnome's menu
nothing happens. Starting alsaplayer from the terminal yields
AlsaPlayer 0.99.33-pre2

and nothing happens.
Does anyone have ideas what is missing?

Hi John,
Get lame3.88beta.tar.gz from ftp://lame.sourceforge.net/pub/lame/src/.
Then:
tar xzvf lame3.88beta.tar.gz
cd lame-3.88/debian
chmod +x rules
cd ..
fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage
You'll get Debian packages which are installed easily.
