Custom Kernel 2.4.18 = No Loadable Modules?

ules_install'   I've seen a lot of newsgroup suggestions regarding this and the need to upgrade modutils, but my modutils version is 2.4.15-1 so I'm wondering what else to look for.   Thanks for any help,   Tony Vandiver
