A few days ago I installed Debian Lenny, i.e., current testing, on my
system replacing stable. It was a fresh install, not an upgrade.
Everything is functioning fine. But when I try to run netselect-apt to
find the fastest mirror, I get:
"netselect was unable to find a mirror, this probably means

On Etch 4.0 with Evolution 2.6.3 (with all updates applied).
Past 2-3 weeks my pop downloads using evolution have become very slow,
when they are going on they are consuming lots of resources. It's really
become a serious problem.
Can't figure out why this is happening? Any clues?

Question eve
Etch has debian-multimedia-keyring, installing which seems to solve the
problem.

Running debian etch 4.0 stable. xmms 1.2.10+200611.
When I click on Options -> Double Size, the display gets messed up and
xmms hangs.
Also, though the flac plugins are installed, it does not play flac
files, saying that they are invalid (the same files are played perfectly
by Rhythmbox).

Logged in as one user, I often need to check mail of other users (I use
Evolution). In Fedora Core 5, which I used earlier, I would just log in
through a terminal and open Evolution for that user in that same
terminal without any problems. Could not do this in debian etch 4.0 (to

Recently some kernel update for debian etch appeared, which I duly
installed. In Fedora, when this used to be done, the grub entry would
get automatically updated. But here it does not seem to have happened,
the entry is the same as the original one. apt-get shows both the
linux-images installed. S

Yes, it worked. Ran dpkg-reconfigure locales, and selected 'en_GB

With XMMS 1:1.2.10+20061 installed on debian etch 4.0 stable, the menu
display does not show up properly after right-clicking, the items cannot
be read. I don't think this is a problem with xmms per se, probably with
gtk? Anyway, I am not sure, but a similar problem happened on a friend's
system, s
