This works if I do not use an ATAPI CDROM: from the manual page 79 ( ver 1.02) Make sure the ATAPI CD-ROM you want to use in the boot sequence is connected to eigther the PRIMARY or SECONDARY IDE connectors, not to the ATA100 connectors. Currently the Promise Ultra DMA /100 chip does not

Thank you! (R.T.F.M.) I just read my motherboard manual and found the section to disable the controller. I had thought of this also but not lokked hard enough.(Not hard enough I guess)
