smail errors

Hi, I've got Linux zachs 2.0.32 #1 Tue Nov 25 17:21:48 CST 1997 i686 unknown running ii smail 3.2.0.92-3 Electronic mail transport system. and smail has started exiting apparently randomly; I'm wondering if 1) anyone has suggestions on how/why it might do so 2) whether debian 2.0

What is policy on software updates to the 'stable' tree? Software there is somewhat 'stale' and has unacceptable security risks such as Smail lacking the anti-relay features, bind still being v4.9.6, etc. Should I just not run 'stable' ? (This might mean I shouldn't run Debian at all, I

Bizarre hard drive

IP aliasing question

I have a single machine on the net (zachs.place.org) with ip aliases to make it also be (eth0:0) juggling.place.org and (eth0:1) www.worldwind.com. Which all works fine. Except... that anywhere I telnet to from that machine sees me as coming from www.worldwind.com instead of from
