Both KDM and GDM offer the concept of sessions; you want to make
sure that you're using the Debian session, not one that goes
straight into GNOME or KDE without reading other dotfiles.

anyone had any luck getting xmlterm to work on the woody backports of
mozilla 1,.2? So far all I've gotten is an empty window popping up.

i have a tree of all the documents i ever touched in the last 14
years, and i would like to reorganise it. there are 120,000 files
and thus i am reverting to a GUI approach; on the shell, my fingers
would fall off, mc is nice but a little archaic to use i find, so
