I'm new user of nagios, and i'm not sure of everything i want to do.
All is ok, but my boss (he give me a lot of trouble!) want to nagios do
the service check faster (every 10second for example).
So a lot of question come into my too small head :
- Do i need to use another monitoring
- Do i need to use another monitoring software?
I depends on what you want to monitor and what your boss wants to see.
The essential things to monitor is switch, gateway ..

kind of lan configuration, and debian machine goes well!
i've reduced the time to access to my debian machine via the java
application at 1/2 sec!

my ARP table is not very full, it has only one entry! (i'm not sure
that's logics!)
I add the connecting host into mt /etc/hots, and it goes well. i find
that very strange...!

I try to running OpManager which use the famous APACHE server. The Apache

with the DBCA (the assistant to create database easily). But it bug on
my debian (Maybe i need another patch, and people who try to install
oracle9i under debian, know how it's hard to do it!)

I've got a problem witg Oracle 9i. i've installed this with a lot of
pb, but after some hours of works and some good help it run.
Now, i try to create a database with DBCA. when the creation is at 46%,

i've tried to install Oracle 9i on debian.
i've changed the kernel parameters and then there is the first problem
(maybe not, but), i can't find parameters file like shmmni in
/proc/kernel/sys.
After that, i lauch the Oracle Universal Installer on the CD, i install a
