the newer monitor is
that the scaling of fonts/menus/window sizes is set
so small and not easily adjustable in the program
itself that i have to change my monitor screen size
in order to be able to read the menu items or see
what is going on. not everything pays attention to
system font settings.

you have checked the box for automatically remembering
started applications.
then, set up your workspaces and when you turn off the
machine use System->Shutdown->Shutdown and it should remember
all of your open windows and where they were located.

the alternative is to write down the time stamp
and to just skip forwards to that next time you
pull up the bookmark (click on the bar on the
bottom as it is playing and it will give you the
time stamp at that location).

i deleted the tags. there is no way to interrupt
this. oops. i had to go find the backup files
and restore the database which held the tags.
luckily i did make a backup of my work and that
was all it was to restore the tags instead of
having to actually go dig up the 9000 picture
files again.
