there is an appropriate ML: debian-hppa for 712: refer to www.parisc-linux.org for any
HOWTOs and ISOs. Debian is running on my 710/50!!!

work right now. I also found some package in a debian-people
site: http://people.debian.org/~cpbotha/ as David Barclay Harris suggested
to me. I will try it on a scratch system as long as I will find to time to
do it!!!

i converted sourcecode with dh_make , modified makefile and debian/* and
succesfully compiled and buid package with debuild but can't select arch.
in fact debuild (at some lines) says:
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/pelux/temp/mplayer-0.11.pre24/libmpeg2'
gcc -c -O4 -march=i686 -mcpu=i686 -pi
I get with every package an error compiling with debuild a debianazied
regular source package converted with dh_make
in fact (this is mplayer 0.11pre24) debuild says:
dh_installdirs
# Add here commands to install the package into debian/mplayer.
make install prefix=/tmp/mplayer-0.11/debian/mplay

You should use a dos-running utility called FIPS, it's use is to resize
your partition space on a partitionned drive, you *MUST* however, defrag
the partition prior to doing this.
You should find it on your CD or on the NET.
