Maybe the `cruft' package will be helpfull to you.
Greetings,
joachim
until i have the budget, i'm looking to free up some space
from redundant doc files (then i'll be able to gripe about
not being able to find any docs, of course)...
somewhere in the frozen potato era, debian went from
using /usr/doc to /usr/share/doc. there are many
symlinks from one to the other,

after getting "apt-get upgrade" all clean (not that there
isn't a hangnail now and then) i noticed that i've got
lots of stuff in /usr/share/doc now. much of it looks just
like the stuff i've already got under /usr/doc.
is the /usr/share/doc stuff significant? should it replace
the /usr/doc items?

Some packages install their docs in /usr/share/doc, but don't
add a symlink to /usr/doc -- is it ok for me to manually add
those symlinks after installation, or will that cause problems
with dpkg when it tries to update or remove those packages down
the road?
Thanks,
