This is a call to the OSS community for volunteer (Java) programmers who would like to join the GPLDivePlanner project (gpldiverplanner.seul.org):
[1] Definition and mission statement: The aim of this multinational-multidisciplinary project is to produce the "GPL DivePlanner", an Open Source/General Public License, Java package for simulating and planning multilevel scuba dives (for air, nitrox and trimix). While the "Open Source" nature of the project implies that the code of the program will be openly available for the public to peer-review, test and modify, the General Public License will guarantee the free access of the application to all of the interested parties: everyone will be able to, freely, download, copy and share the program. [2] Sponsor organization: The GPL DivePlanner is sponsored by the Simple End User Linux project (www.seul.org). The aim of SEUL is to promote free software under the General Public License and focus many of the hosted projects on science, education and development of free software to the broader public. Please, circulate this call as you see fit. Interested parties, please, contact me off list, include a brief summary of your diving/programming experience and subscribe to the gpldiveplanner-dev list from the web site (gpldiveplanner.seul.org). As soon as you make it to the dev forum, please, make a short intro on your skills and interest in the project. Thank you.
