Voodoo 3 should run fine under 3.3.6, I wouldn't mess with 4
just yet! Can you send me your XF86Config file privately and I'll take a
look? It's in /etc/X11.

Try the following from the user account that you want to use
for X windows viewing.
cd
touch .xserverrc
[Then use the editor of your choice t
Take a glance at xinit or startx's man page. It boils down to a -bpp
option.
