Hello,
I think it should be in the file tetex-base in the /etc/X11/Xresources
directory.
I have to check this at home.
What I did here (at the office) is enter the line
XDvi*expert: true
in this tetex-base file and then I started xdvi and indeed, there were no
buttons.

Hello,
I have an ATI Rage Fury Pro 128 graphics card. It seems that it is almost
impossible to get this working with XFree86-v3.3.6, therefore I installed
XFree86-v.4.0.1. Now my X environement seems to work well. By the way, more
info about installing X with ATI card can be found at

I have an ATI Rage 128 (32MB AGP) and to get full support I had to
install XFree86-4.0. There isn't a .deb yet, but you can download the
binaries from the xfree86 website.
You can find information here:
http://www.xfree86.org
And for information specific to ATI Rage Fury, look here:
Dear Debian,
I just purchased and installed Debian and there are no x-servers listed
that are compatible with my Rage Fury 32Mb AGP video card. Is it possible
to install the compatible x-server from another distribution into debian?
If so, how would I go about doing this?
Sincerely,
Ned

I use the same card and X server and I upgraded from 2.0.
Hello
I experience problems using my ATI Rage Fury (ATI Rage 128) video card
with 2.2.x kernel.
With 2.0.36 kernel I use a XRage128 server from SUSE and everything
works fine.
Trying to start xserver with 2.2.1 causes system crash: the screen

Did for a friend last weekend. It is done with the XF86_FBDev X server and so
is rather slow - but better than nothing.
Look at the Framebuffer-HOWTO and go to:

At the bottom of that page is an addendu
Which do you mean, Rage Fury or Rage Pro? They are two separate cards,

Yep, I have been using mine for 5 months now, since I got it. Actually,
what kernel or distribution that you have does not have much to do with
wether or not your card is supported. What matters is wether your X

HI,
I'm new with linux (3 weeks), and I wasn't able to set frame buffer with my ATI
rage fury (rage 128 GL cpu) since 3 days.
The text part is working very well (I respond 0x0317 to the "vga=ask" lilo line,
and I get 1024x768x16 text mode Ok)
The docs are not very helpfull,
