I have a Creative Soundblaster PCI 512 which apparantly uses the soundcore and emu10k1 drivers. It *should* be working but it's not. I still get a "soundcard not properly configured" when I try to use xmms (for example). I did load these drivers and during startup I can see that it's using these

If it is the old non-pnp card, I have the same one. In menuconfig, select Sound, OSS Sound modules, 100% Sound Blaster compatibles. This is for 2.2.16. I think the menu selections were a bit different for some earlier kernels. If you select Y, you will see where to enter the parameters. If y
