Discover and tons of uneeded kernel modules

I have recently removed discover and hotplug from my unstable system (since the hardware of this computer isn't going to change) but I did an lsmod and there is a ton of useless kernel modules loaded... Does anyone else have this problem? What file do I have to edit so that those kernel modules
