Exim and Smarthost

i've setup two machines with exim , server1 send all trafic to the smarthost server2. When server2 is not connected to the net , cannot resolve a lot of domain and reject temporary the trafic from server1. i use the default smarthost setup from debain 2.0 Any idea ? Tony Schonfeld
