Why so many updates to frozen hamm?

I see a fairly steady stream of updates to hamm. Many more updates, it seems, than the number of bugs that get closed. I don't mind; I just don't understand. It doesn't look like a deep-freeze to me. I'm not impatient either. The more updates the better. I just thought I'd ask in case there is

Still testing the xdm thing, but thanks for everyone's help on it. (I got to run to a remote system to test it). This Frozen Hamm deal is confusing me. I tried hamm, and I know I am not nearly as experienced with Linux as alot of people who have tried hamm, so I got problems left
