What would be the best way to install woody libs
on an unstable system to keep some legacy software
(no source) going.
I plan to unar / untar the debs and stick
them in /opt/usr/lib, and point LD_LIBRARY_PATH
in the right direction.
Since this is kdelibs3,

Wouldn't it be possible to use the --root= parameter for dpkg? e.g.
dpkg --root=/opt -i a-lib-package ?
