Thanks to fontconfig, I do find it rather simplified and structured.
Just put your new fonts into ~/.fonts (locally)

Aptitude is well worth taking the time to get to know, both in command
line and in full-screen mode. For the User Manual, install
aptitude-doc-en. The html manual will then be in
/usr/share/doc/aptitude/html/en.
