Does this make it impossible to turn off IPv6? Or am I missing
something...
At least in

At least in sid:
head -3 /etc/modutils/aliases ; grep -i ipv6 alias

Interestingly,
This didn't work on the Squeeze system, but it worked fine on a Lenny
system running a stock Lenny 2.6.26-2 kernel, which seems to have been
generated with ipv6 as a module.
Equally interestingly,
The Lenny system had no file called /proc/sys/net/ipv6/conf/*/

Sadly, it was a good idea but it didn't work.
Apparently, having the module compiled in prevents any of the

However,

net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1
in /etc/sysctl.conf ought to do it.
likew
The 2.6.30 kernel seems to have ipv6 turned on and compiled-in -- i.e.
not a module.
Does this make it impossible to turn off IPv6? Or am I missing
something...
I'm on a network where the router advertises an ipv6 prefix and route,
but that route is flakey (it's been out for over a we
