Hi All! A 'funny' problem occured these days when trying to write and read data-DVD's. Afer burning an ISO-image with growisofs on a DVD-R (what seemed to work successfully) I tried to verify the correctness of the content. And: Absolutely not identical! An ls in the DVDs root-directory showed incorrect filenames, some files were missing completely, some had wrong content. At first I thought that this happened through the burning process but after trying to read the DVD on some other hosts I realized that this is depending on the Kernel! The bf24 from Debian 3.0r1 works proper, 2.4.26 and 2.6.5 show the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? Are some special kernel-patches available? (I searched the web for this problem but was not very successful) Could this have to do with DMA? grettings, Klaus! -- Klaus Siegesleitner - [EMAIL PROTECTED] CAME (Center of Applied Molecular Engineering) University of Salzburg, Jakob-Haringerstr. 5, A-5020 Salzburg -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
