strictly speaking GNU TeXmacs is not a TeX/LaTeX editor it only uses
the TeX fonts and some LaTeX classes then stores documents in its
native format, conversion from TeXmacs format to LaTeX and vice versa
is not perfect.
it is still a very good Document Processor with some very inovative

Emacs. Or vi. Or anything else that can edit text. There are a
couple of WYSIWYGish things (I think LyX is the main one), but all of
the reference material I've seen assumes you're going off and

LyX - a debian package - is a front end for LaTeX. Does everything you

Emacs is my editor of choice for nearly everything. I am learning to
like Cooledit. It's a very lightweight editor with syntax highlighting
for several languages, including LaTeX2e.

Hi all.
I was reading some messages from TeX fonts and BibTex style threads
on this list, and I think perhaps someone can help me to configure an
editor to write Tex docs. Currently I'm using raw vim, without any

How can I configure vim (or other editor) to easy write TeX
I have -no- experience with TeX but LyX seems like a neat lil' package.
Er ... revision ...looking at LyX is the only TeX experience I have ...

I am very happy with emacs+auctex+bibtex+reftex for this.
What? No +bib-cite+font-latex in there?
I'm disappointed!
Vague answer here! Benji Fisher has a couple of really good packages for
writing Latex with Vim. You should be able to locate his homepage via
www.vim.org - sorry I don't have the up-to-date version, as I've sinced
moved over to the One True Editor ;-)
