Hi,
I have a problem after I apt-upgraded Debian Sid a couple of days ago.
It seems that some xserver-xorg-* or hal* packages broke my mouse in X.
The result is I have no working mouse in X - it displays cursor, that's
it. I managed to operate the mouse with keyboard 'emulation', but it's

Hi,
I've had some troubles with my mouse, after most reboots it wouldn't
work, only after some (>1) dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 and reboots
and stopping and restarting gdm several times, it would come to life.
During a reboot now i just saw this message:
ide-detect ide-disk psmouse modprobe
OK, the problem was exactly this, the psmouse driver.
Thank you very much.

Hello debian-user,
Well, I use kernel-2.4.18. I have Lucent Winmdem so I compiled
kernel with K7 optimization for Duron/Athlon processors (I have
Duron 1200). But then after instaling the kernel my mouse doesn't
work though it worked with old kernel on device ImPS/2 (Mouse is PS/2).

Any ideas which files I have to change, to get it working

I have never seen this not work properly! If it does not, you
have not set it up right.

A fresh installation using the boot floppies in frozen directory

Problems:
1. Mouse (/dev/psaux, ps2 with wheel) doesn't work after setting it up

Opps! My /dev/mouse link was pointing to /dev/ttys0 and not /dev/ttyS0 !
Works now.

After an upgrade from Slackware 96 (!) to hamm, my mouse doesn't work using
the old XF86Config file and the old kernel. Attempts to reconfigure with
XF86Setup were not successful.
The mouse used to be at /dev/ttyS0 (not even a busmouse!)
The mouse is a 3-button MouseSystem optical
