PCI NE2000 cards are supported directly in kernels >= 2.0.34. In earlier kernels, they work fine using the ISA NE2000 driver. Unfortunately some NE2000 clones are more compatible than others. Mine (generic with Realtek 8029 chip) works fine with either driver. Bob On Sun, 4 Oct 1998, M.C. Vern
