Dear all,

first thing happy holidays!
I was playing around with the new 2.6.28 kernel and I noticed that my
system (Asus Z37E, completely Intel based) wouldn't suspend from Gnome.
If I drop in a tty and issue

# echo mem > /sys/power/state

the system suspends without problems.
It also works if I open a gnome-terminal window and issue the same
command.

However, if I rely on gnome-power-manager and try closing the lid or
clicking on the GPM icon and select "Suspend", the suspend process starts
but aborts and I get back to the window where I have to input my password
to log back in (not GDM, the one that appears when coming back from the
screensaver).

Can anybody help me debug this issue? I would like to understand where
the problem is before I file a bug.

The problem is there with 2.6.26 (stock Debian kernel), 2.6.27.2 and
2.6.28 vanilla kernels.

Thank you all!
