Hi to all, I recently upgraded from xlib6g 3.3.2.3a-11 to xlib6g 3.3.4-2 on my debian slink system.
Before that, everything worked fine, especially the gdm graphical login. Now I only get the grey screen of the X server, nothing more. gdm generates this log file in /var/state/gdm/:0.log :/usr/bin/X11/xauth: creating new authority file /var/state/gdm/authdir/:0.xauth Xaccel 5.0.2 (build 5002/WIGWAM,AX) Accelerated-X (tm) Display Server Copyright (c) 1993-98 by Xi Graphics, Inc. Last thing, when I log on a console as root and type startx, my Window Manager works fine... (but starts with a long (15 seconds ) delay). Has my problem something to do with xauth ? with suid ? Isn't the boot sequence considered as root when launching programs ?... Can someone tell me what to do ? Thanx in advance, Franck Routier
