Cups has always been a PITA, to me, anyway. It required more work after
each "upgrade" here. I recall many people moving to lpring or

I've never had problems with Cups but true is that I'm lucky of having
good printers (all postscript based and networked) so s

Good day all
I can't get cups to do anything but show the entry page at
localhost:631. All of the other tabs display 500 Internal Server Error.
This is on an AMD64 system. Cups was working on a 686 system but the
system recently died so I have lost my print server.
The AMD sys does
Hi,
I have the following config file and got the followed error.
Has anyone a clue what the problem could be?
The .15 IP is a Windows XP Client. Why is the client not authorized
(cupsdSendError: 8 code=401 (Unauthorized))? Printing works perfect.
Thanks a lot,
Hartmut

Hi!
I am running etch with cups for printing in a Lexmark e210 printer.
Since the moving from sarge to etch, my printing system is not working
correctly. Sometimes pages are skipped, or the whole system hang badly
forcing me to do a hard reboot. I googled looking for a fix, but without
success. Wh
I run a testing/unstable mix. Today cups was upgraded on both
distributions, so I dutifully followed suit.
Cupsd will not start now, withis error:
Starting CUPSys: cupsdcupsd: Child exited with status 98!
Going back to the previous version does not help, which makes me think

Hi,
my problem with cups and Samsung 1210 has been solved by the last
upgrade from Sid (it installed a new version of the cupsomatic script,
which seems to have been the culprit)
Now works like a charm.
Thanks to all those who responded.

I've been seeing a lot of CUPS related problem on the list lately and I,
personally, have been having no end of problems printing since the last
cups upgrade landed through apt-get: my home printer (parallel port)
won't print at all... I guess I'll have to try rebooting and cycling the
printer :-)
Ok, I tried searching the archives and nothing came up. I'm not even
sure if the archive search is working. Even a general term such as
"print" brings up nothing. I'm using CUPS 1.1.10 (in sid) with the
EPSON Stylus Color 400 GIMP-Print v4.1.99b1 driver. The first job
prints perfectly, any job
