You story sounds like bug #242163. Perhaps someone can help me I am trying to configure my nvidia card (Sarge + 2.6.5 vanilla kernel). I followed the standard procedure from /usr/share/doc/nvidia-source. XFree86 works with the "nvidia" driver, but I don't get any glx-display.
