In my limited experiance I must say that the ALSA approach worked much
smoother and easier than the OSS eqvivliant. Thats with my Awe 64 ISA PNP
and I even got it working with two soundcards at the same time, thats hard
to do (if not impossible) with the OSS modules.

Hmm, you'll have to use isapnp for it. I know there is a awe howto out there
also. Another thing is to check the kernel docs. There is some awe stuff in
there. Good luck. From my soundcard experiences, using oss in the kernel is
