Just a clarification: Emacs doesn't make a backup when you open a file,

I did read the man page, but unfortunatly was not able to find the
appropiate parameter.

I think you might be looking for something like:
'(setq make-backup-files nil)'
This is from memory, but it should provide a starting point.
