Had a similar problem, which was solved by including the machine/user
name in the URL:
smb://[server_name]/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/IP_of_server/printer_name
e.g.:
smb://DOZE/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/HIS-FACLAB/his-fac-lex
...having a Guest account on the windows machine enabled.
