Who said anything about a bug in the thinkpad firmware? Until I
get to see the dmi string, I don't know what is happening. It
is far more likely that the driver needs to be updated.

Another symptom, although on the panel the gnome power management applet
indicates the battery is charging, actually it is not. Now with the
power adapter connected, the laptop cannot charge the battery! I think
the incompatibility of tp_smapi with bios gives the wrong control on

to lenovo so hardware engineers there could be aware of this problem or

I have new info for the problem I have encountered. I've already updated
bios to the latest, so the method in troubleshooting section of
thinkwiki.org about tp_smapi is not working.
