Progress report:
A little more legwork and I'm now there as far as sending deferred
messages.
I had to a) designate my ISP as a smarthost, which I've never had to do
before, and b) make sure the ISP's domain wasn't listed (inadvertantly) in
smail/config as another host on _my_ system.

I have just installed hamm off the 'official' CD and am struggling with smail
differences from the earlier '2.0beta' CD that some vendors put out. This is
the proverbial standalone machine hooked to an ISP via a modem.
Q: I can only send mail when dialled up to the internet. smail will not spool
